New Chief Operating Officer incoming

We would like to introduce you to our new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Sarah Dimmelow, who will be starting with us on Tuesday 31 August. Sarah joins us from Polaris Children’ Services (formerly Core Assets) where she was the Managing Director. Sarah will be our Executive Lead for safeguarding.

Sarah is an experienced and confident leader. With eight years of executive experience, she has consistently achieved visible and measurable results in strategy, governance, operational quality and commercial performance. She has built and maintained high-performing management and staff teams, setting a positive values-driven culture with clear performance expectations across a broad range of regulated and unregulated children’s, family and adult social care services. She has had executive oversight of children’s services, care leavers services, adoption and fostering services and developed a successful domestic violence portfolio. Sarah is also experienced in adult regulated services in the areas of mental health, physical and learning disabilities. Sarah is a recognised champion of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

In addition to a BA Honours Degree, Sarah holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, 1996-1998 (Tavistock & Portman Clinic) and an Education Postgraduate Certificate in Social Care Leadership, 2007-2008 (University of Birmingham/Social Care Institute of Excellence).

Sarah shared her excitement in coming to Nugent:

I am very excited to be joining Nugent. Having spent time with the Trustees and Leadership Team recently, two things really stood out. First, values drive the work of the organisation. How we treat others and how we behave as individuals defines our impact and our success. Second, the quality of services is paramount. Keeping children and adults safe, secure and able to reach their full potential defines not just our purpose as an organisation but our professional identity. As someone who shares these priorities, I am keen to join and support Nugent’s journey. I look forward to meeting new colleagues and visiting services during my induction and beyond.
