Independence, choice, and inclusion

Nugent ICS service provides quality support that ensures rights, independence, inter-dependence choice and inclusion are integrated into everything we do.

The service operates Monday to Friday and is based on needs assessments.

We enable those we support to access their community safely and develop the skills needed to improve life opportunities and enhance their quality of life.

Our team achieve this through direct support, advocacy and liaison with family and any specialists involved.

Nugent is able to:

  • Support development of life skills
  • Advise, advocate and provide liaison with other agencies
  • Assist to maintain health and well-being
  • Assist with finances and benefits management
  • Assist in establishing social contacts and activities
  • Assist in maintaining personal safety whilst accessing the local community
  • Assist with access to education, employment or volunteering, travel training, help with application forms, interview preparation etc.

Support is provided in line with agreed social care assessments and individualised support/risk plans. All support is personalised with those we supported choosing how they would best like support to be provided.

We provide quality strengths based support through:

  • Encouraging safe increased independence, engaging in learning new skills and gaining confidence, enhancing self-esteem.
  • Working together with the people we support and all those important people involved their lives.
  • Maintaining dignity and respect for those we support at all times.
  • Ensuring people supported are involved in all decisions affecting the service and support they receive.
  • Promoting the right to privacy, choice and inclusion.

At Nugent we are committed to providing those we support with a better quality of life. Good quality, person-centred support is a basic right for all those that use our services.

We make sure we promote independence, treat people we support as individuals and with respect, offer support based on level of need, not simply client group labels, improve people’s quality of life, offer choice whenever possible and allow people to do things for themselves.

Our Liverpool ICS service treats every person we support as a unique individual taking the time to listen and understand how best to provide support where, when and how needed.
