Why Lime Grove Cottage?

We believe that all children and young people should have the opportunity to grow up in a nurturing family environment. Living in a residential setting should never be a barrier to their potential, and every child should have access to the same opportunities for growth and development.

At Lime Grove Cottage, we offer a homely atmosphere supported by a dedicated team, working to replicate the security and care of a family setting.

Our home fosters stability and consistency through child-centred routines that balance individual needs with shared responsibilities. We provide clear and meaningful boundaries while encouraging positive risks. Lime Grove Cottage offers a stable environment built on trust, where experienced and committed professionals support our children and young people in a respectful, non-judgemental manner.

Promoting independence and personal growth

Our team plays a key role in fostering the independence and personal development of the children and young people at Lime Grove Cottage.

We empower young people by equipping them with essential skills to ensure positive outcomes as they transition from our service into family homes, permanent residences, foster care, and eventually into adulthood. To support this, we hold weekly meetings with the children and young people we support, encouraging them to actively participate in planning the upcoming week’s activities. Whether it’s trampolining or swimming, these activities are selected collaboratively by our young people.

In addition, our team works closely with the young people to prepare nutritious, balanced meals together, further enhancing their independence. By supporting the development of independent living and employability skills—especially for those of working age—with compassion and encouragement, we embrace Nugent’s holistic approach to care.
