Black History Month – Celebrating achievements of our BAME Colleagues
As part of Black History Month, we’re celebrating the contributions and achievements of black and minority ethnic colleagues. Today we’re shining a light on Lorna and her valued contribution to Nugent.
“Lorna joined the Caritas team at Nugent as a Volunteer Coordinator last December and has approached her new role with enthusiasm, optimism and a caring attitude.
The role of Volunteer Coordinator is very varied, and Lorna has developed supportive and enabling relationships with the volunteers who are involved with Nugent. She has encountered a broad range of people from students who are looking for work experience to retired older people who have years of experience. Lorna’s natural bubbly personality has enabled her to get to know people quickly and build a supportive caring rapport with a diverse range of people. Lorna promotes dignity and respect throughout all her work.”
Throughout October we’ll be celebrating Black History Month with activities across our services, focusing on equality, diversity and inclusivity. We will be reflecting on the past, celebrating the present and looking forward to the future of possibilities.
