Riverbank

Riverbank is a compassionate home designed to care for and nurture young people between the ages of 13 and 17. Our residents have mild to moderate learning difficulties, are neuro-diverse, have mental health needs and/or have experienced trauma and neglect.

Riverbank is a brand-new service located in the serene surroundings of Hesketh Bank, Preston. Anticipated to open its doors in 2024, Riverbank is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for young people.

Our young people have mild to moderate learning difficulties, are neuro-diverse, have mental health needs and/or experienced trauma and neglect.

Nestled within serene and expansive grounds, our 2-bed home offers a beautiful setting for our young people. There is a large garden space for outdoor activities. The addition of a sensory/gaming room enriches the therapeutic experience and can be used as a space to relax and a space to complete learning.

At Riverbank, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and caring environment where young people can flourish and reach their full potential. Our goal is to foster positive relationships between our young people and our staff members. We understand the importance of routine and structure in providing stability and positivity to our home.

Our staff members play a pivotal role in promoting the independence and personal growth of our young people. We strive to empower young people, equipping them with the skills they need for positive outcomes when transitioning out of our service. Our team conducts weekly meetings with young people, ensuring that everyone is engaged in planning activities for the week ahead. From trampolining to swimming, these activities are chosen collaboratively by the young people. There is an option to be involved in community activities such as the gym, football teams, dancing etc. Additionally, our staff and young people come together to plan and cook nutritious and balanced meals, further enhancing their independence skills.

Riverbank is more than a residence; it is a home, a place of support, encouragement, and growth. We believe in our young people’s potential to achieve the best possible outcomes, and we are dedicated to providing them with the tools, care, and environment they need to thrive.
