Riverbank is a specialised and compassionate service offering trauma-informed care for young people with complex needs, empowering them to thrive until the age of 18 in a safe and nurturing environment.

Riverbank is our brand-new and specialised service located in the serene surroundings of Hesketh Bank, Preston. Anticipated to open its doors in 2024, Riverbank is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for young people with complex trauma-informed needs.

Our mission at Riverbank is to offer direct therapeutic care to young individuals who may not have received the support they require in areas of trauma-informed care. We are here to enable them to grow and develop, achieve necessary milestones, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment until they reach the age of 18.

Our service sets itself apart by allowing beneficiaries to stay at the home up until the age of 18, accompanied by a commissioned health team. We firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their life experiences and challenges, deserves a chance to succeed. Hence, our approach is rooted in providing stability, nurturing, safety, and a therapeutic environment to foster growth and healing.

At Riverbank, we understand that the behaviours exhibited by young individuals are often a result of past, present, or even further trauma. Our unique understanding and approach differentiate us from other organisations. We don’t label these behaviours as inherently bad but rather recognise them as reactions to triggers caused by traumatic experiences. By addressing the root causes, we can provide essential support and equip them with coping strategies to navigate life successfully.

As a solo occupancy service, we focus on offering specialised trauma-informed care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. We aim to create an environment where trust can be rebuilt, outlooks on life can be reshaped, and personal growth can flourish.
