Why The Meadows?
The Meadows is a specialist residential provision for children and young people, including those stepping down from secure accommodation or as a prevention to stepping up.
The home provides a safe, nurturing environment for children or young people who are often traumatised through their previous adverse life experiences, leading to a variety of support needs. They need the space in which to express themselves, with the opportunity to be involved in many activities. Some of the young people we support have been in numerous placements and we aim to offer stability and consistency in their care. The service offer is a psychologically informed, therapeutic environment to support young people using a model of relational security.
In order to achieve this The Meadows provides a stable and consistent staffing team delivered through complex care packages. A minimum staffing ratio of 2 staff to 3 young people dependent on individual levels of need and risk. Staff are skilled to manage complex formulations through an enhanced training offer. The Meadows operates with a trauma-informed approach and is dedicated to creating an environment where every resident feels valued, cared for and understood.

The Meadows has attractive, nurturing environments in which children and young people feel safe, free to enjoy the space and have the time to grow in confidence and achieve their potential.
The Meadows provides stability and care, through good trusting relationships between experienced, committed staff, who work with the children/young people in a professional non-judgemental way.
We meet the young people’s needs through individual care plans which have been developed with the young person, family and relevant professionals. An atmosphere is created where children and young people are valued and treated with dignity and respect, showing them that they are people of worth; enabling them to feel good about themselves and confident in their abilities.
