The garden at St. Joseph’s Care Home has been given a beautiful new lease of life, thanks to the incredible generosity and hard work of the landscaping team from Aintree and The Jockey Club.
What was once an unused outdoor space has been transformed into a vibrant, welcoming garden for residents, families, and staff to enjoy. The project forms part of Aintree and The Jockey Club’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities across the Liverpool City Region.
To mark the completion of the project, an unveiling event was held at St. Joseph’s, with representatives from both organisations in attendance. Keith Wilde, Executive Director of Adult Services at Nugent, and Dickon White, Aintree & North West Regional Director at The Jockey Club, spoke about the positive impact this new space will have for the people supported by Nugent.
Keith said:
“Outdoor spaces play such an important role in wellbeing. This garden will give the people we support at St. Joseph’s the chance to relax, socialise, and enjoy nature in a safe and peaceful setting. We’re incredibly grateful to Aintree and The Jockey Club for making this possible.”
Dickon added:
“Supporting local causes is a key part of what we do, and it’s been a privilege to work alongside Nugent to create something that will bring so much joy and comfort to residents and staff for years to come.”
The revitalised garden includes new planting, seating areas, and accessible pathways, creating a space that promotes both relaxation and connection.
St. Joseph’s Care Home provides specialist support for individuals who have sustained an acquired brain injury, offering personalised care and rehabilitation in a safe, supportive environment.
This partnership is another example of how collaboration across sectors can make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
